Dear Sweden...

So! The year's creeping into November, now, is it? Let's invoke an old tradition. Hibernation!

No, actually, it's not as terrible as I was expecting. Time flies by when you're in a hurry, it would seem.

Some snow has come and gone. We had a terrible storm (class 2 warnings were issued) just the other day, but thankfully traffic moved along and my buses kept going. Breath of relief!

By now, it gets dark around half past three in the afternoon. When it's cloudy, it's impossible to say what time of day it is, and it's dark all day through. I was walking home today on high heels in complete darkness, since school ended at ten past four. I'm relieved that I have no issues with dark places (esp. since my way home goes through a forest unoccupied by homo sapiens).

The winter diseases have started, however. I've promised myself I won't get sick this year, either. Aah, well, there's nothing to it but praying and eating white pepper (it's supposed to help?!).

Advice of the day: It's okay to experience the need run back into your apartment/house/whatever to check whether you turned the coffee machine off, my psychologist told me. It's okay - as long as you don't bring it with you.

Apparently, that's taking it too far.

Edgar Allan Poe: To-

The pen falls powerless from my shivering hand.
With thy dear name as text, though bidden by thee,
I cannot write- I cannot speak or think-
Alas, I cannot feel; for 'tis not feeling,
This standing motionless upon the golden
Threshold of the wide-open gate of dreams.
Gazing, entranced, adown the gorgeous vista,
And thrilling as I see, upon the right,
Upon the left, and all the way along,
Amid empurpled vapors, far away
To where the prospect terminates- thee only.
